Volunteer Opportunity

Every Monday morning starting at 9:00am a group of volunteers meets at the Preserve parking lot (N4341 Co Road A, Cambridge) to work on a buckthorn management project in one of our woods!
Buckthorn is an invasive species that can spread quickly and effectively shade out native plants. This leads to a lack of herbaceous cover and increased soil erosion. By removing the buckthorn, we are allowing more light to get to the understory to help those native species thrive, helping to hold the soil in place.
We only work until noon each Monday. Come by for an hour (or all three!) and help us work towards our goal of removing all the buckthorn from this area! Reach out to me at [email protected] or at 608-445-4536 for more information. Hope to see you there!
